Education & Entrepreneurship
Deloitte Entrepreneurship Workshop for Women
In partnership with Deloitte, an entrepreneurship workshop was conducted in India for young impoverished woman. As part of the workshop, the Deloitte employees taught the women about how to grow their small businesses and create more self-sufficiency. They even had a “Shark-tank” style pitch competition at the end and allotted money to the women with the best pitches & ideas.
Library at Balkunj Orphanage
In 2006, a library was started at the orphanage, providing each child an opportunity to learn. Since then, the library has been expanded upon each year, so that fewer children have to share a set of books. Furthermore, technical books have been added to the library, enabling older children to pursue a technical vocation. Till now a total of 7000 books have been provided.
Library at Feltonville School
Opened a library at Feltonville Philadelphia for children ages 7 to 10. Donated thousands of books and created a joyful learning environment
Computer Center at Geeta Public School
Since technology is such a key factor for education in today's world, Empower Orphans started a Computer Lab at Geeta Bhawan Public School. The lab was initiated with 4 computers, 4 printers, and Internet access. Children attend computer classes twice a week and their progress is monitored.
Sewing Center
Established a Sewing Center to teach at-risk girls and young women skills that enable them to earn a living. 30 sewing machines were donated over the years.
Library at Shiv Shakti School
Started a library at Shiv Shakti School for children ages 12 to 18
Library at Geeta Public School
Opened a library at Geeta Public School for students from age 8 to 15
Science Lab at Shiv Shakti School
A science lab was opened in Shiv Shakti School for underprivileged children. The funds for this lab were raised by Priyanka Garg and Shruti Jain, both volunteers for Empower Orphans. In future years, this lab will be expanded to include additional microscopes, lab testing equipment (beakers, chemicals, burners) and charts.
Sponsorship of Education
Sponsored the complete education for 100 children from grade 3 to 12.

Empower Orphans has donated school supplies (bag, books, stationery) to hundreds of children
Sponsorship of Education
Tanya, our volunteer based in US, sponsored the education of 5 kids in elementary school in New Delhi for 5 years. These kids came from underprivileged families from slums in New Delhi.
School Supplies
Tanya, one of our volunteers from USA, visited and organized a small holiday party at homeless shelter in Mumbai. Most of these kids are found on streets and railway station in Mumbai abandoned by their parents. Donated backpacks filled with school supplies, chocolates, and gifts for 30 kids.
Giving Tree Book Drive
Before the holiday season, a book drive was conducted by students at Penn State University to collect books for an underprivileged school in Philadelphia. As a result of the generous student body, they were able to collect hundreds of books and donate them to the library created back in 2011.

We care about our children, and provide them with a number of enrichment programs to help shape their identity.
